Vitcas Heatproof Mortar is a reliable and efficient air setting refractory cement, specially formulated for INDOOR applications. With a high temperature rating of up to 1400 degrees Celsius, this ready-mixed cement boasts excellent adhesion and creates smoke and gas-tight joints. Its consistency is suitable for trowelling, making it ideal for use with all types of fire bricks and brick slips, aiming for a thin joint thickness of 3 - 5mm.
It exceeds any temperature found in domestic applications, ensuring excellent performance in various fireplace-related tasks.
Uses: Vitcas Heatproof Mortar is versatile and well-suited for a range of applications. It is perfect for setting fire bricks and insulating materials, as well as for building out fireplaces, lining fireplace recesses with fire bricks or brick slips, and boiler areas. This product can be utilized in situations where ordinary mortar would typically be used but requires heat resistance.
It is suitable for INTERIOR use only and must be protected from water when used outdoors, either by a roofed area or an additional render coat with a different material. Not recommended for use as a rendering or gap-filling material. (For outdoor applications, Vitcas Heatproof Screed and Outdoor Oven Cement are suitable alternatives that withstand various weather conditions)
Application: Before application, ensure that all surfaces are clean and free from grease, dust, and dirt. Thoroughly stir the contents of the tub before use. Apply the Vitcas Heatproof Mortar with a trowel, ensuring that all areas to be joined are completely covered with a thin bed of the product. Do not mix any other material with the Heatproof mortar. After use, clean tools promptly with water. Drying and hardening can be expedited by applying gentle heat as soon as the work is completed.
